Possible interactions of Zithromax with other drugs

The following dugs may affect the effectiveness of Zithromax or lead to increased manifestation of side effects:

- antacids containing aluminum or magnesium
- nelfinavir

The following drugs’ effectiveness may be affected by Zithromax:

- astemizole
- cisapride
- cyclosporine
- digoxin
- dihydroergotamine
- disopyramide
- ergotamin
- hexobarbital
- phenytoin
- “statin” medications (e.g., atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin)
- terfenadine
- theophylline
- triazolam
- warfarin
- zidovudine

In case you are taking any of these drugs consult with your doctor immediately on the possible interactions with Zithromax and your personal safety. Depending on the case the doctor may suggest that you:

- cease taking one of the drugs
- substitute one of the drugs with another
- change the way you are taking one or both of the drugs
- leave everything as is
